Cytaraside 1Gm Injection 10Ml

• Loss of appetite
• Nausea and vomiting (especially if given quickly into a vein)
• Diarrhoea
• Soreness or ulcers in the mouth or around the anus
• Skin rash
• Inflammation of the vein at the injection site
• Liver function changes
• Bleeding (from any site in the body)
• Fever

• Sore throat
• Chest pain
• Headache
• Dizziness
• Hair thinning or hair loss
• Itching or hive-like skin reactions
• Freckling of the skin
• Abdominal pain
• Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
• A group of symptoms sometimes called the "Cytaraside injection syndrome" which includes fever, muscle aches, bone pain, occasionally chest pain, a spotty rash, red eyes, and a general feeling of being unwell, usually appearing 6 to 12 hours after a dose.

• Serious infection
• Bleeding or bruising
• Severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis)
• Liver injury
• Severe nervous system effects like confusion, drowsiness, difficulty speaking, poor coordination, or personality changes
• Eye irritation or vision changes
• Severe breathing difficulty
• Severe abdominal pain

Other General Warnings

• You have signs of an infection, such as fever or chills, as your immune defences may be lowered by treatment.
• You notice unusual bruising, bleeding, or tiny red spots on your skin.
• You have persistent nausea, vomiting, or diarrhoea.
• You develop severe abdominal pain.
• You notice new weakness, numbness, vision changes, confusion, or difficulty with coordination.
• You have chest pain or sudden shortness of breath.

• It is given by injection or infusion.
• Do not change, shorten, extend, or repeat the prescribed dose without the treating doctor's decision.
• Because this is a cytotoxic chemotherapy medicine, patients should not attempt to administer or adjust Cytaraside injection themselves.

• Store Cytaraside injection at 20°C to 25°C (controlled room temperature).
• Protect the vials from light and keep them in their original carton until use.
• Cytaraside injection must be kept out of the reach of children and pets at all times when present in a home or care setting.

• Contact your doctor immediately if you develop fever, chills, or feel generally unwell, as this may signal a serious infection.
• Watch for unusual bruising, bleeding, or blood in your urine or stool, and report these promptly.
• Discuss contraception with your doctor if you or your partner could become pregnant during treatment.
• Practise good mouth care and report any mouth soreness or ulcers, which are common during treatment.
• Report any new confusion, vision changes, breathlessness, or severe abdominal pain right away, especially if you are on an intensive treatment schedule.

Interactions with other medicines

• Other bone marrow-suppressing medicines or radiotherapy: May increase the risk of dangerously low blood counts.
• Live or live-attenuated vaccines: Generally avoid during and shortly after treatment unless advised by your doctor.
• Other immunosuppressants: May further increase the risk of infection.
• Digoxin: Cytarabine-containing chemotherapy may reduce digoxin levels and its effectiveness.
• Gentamicin: Cytarabine may reduce its effectiveness against certain infections.
• Flucytosine: Cytarabine may reduce its effectiveness.
• Tell your doctor about all medicines, supplements, and vaccines you are taking before starting treatment.
