Interactions with other medicines

Avoid using this medication with other cough syrups
Monoamine oxidase inhibitors should be avoided with this syrup as they may lead to dangerous drug interaction and may lead severe side effects
You should also avoid barbiturates, antidepressants, antipsychotics or medicines that cause sleep as they interact with this medication
Non-prescription cold and cough preparations, including chlorpheniramine, can intensify the side effects
Anti-epilepsy medicines should be avoided as it increases the chances of having severe side effects
Concomitant use of paracetamol with anti-coagulants like warfarin may increase the effect of warfarin and increases the risk of bleeding
Co-administration of metoclopramide, domperidone may increase the speed of absorption of paracetamol
