Cosmelite cream is used in the treatment and prevention of moderate-to-severe melasma. Melasma is a condition where dark and discolored patches of pigmentation appear on the skin. This cream is als

o used to lighten the skin tone or appearance of dark spots or age spots in older people due to exposure to the sun. It contains a combination of three medicines - mometasone, tretinoin, and hydroquinone as active substances. Do not use this cream for a prolonged duration unless prescribed by your dermatologist. Cosmelite cream is meant for external application only. You should use this cream exactly as recommended by the doctor. Do not use more of this cream or apply it more often than recommended. Avoid sun exposure immediately after applying this cream.

How Does It Work?

Cosmelite cream contains a combination of mometasone, tretinoin, and hydroquinone as active ingredients.
Hydroquinone inhibits an enzyme known as tyrosinase, which is responsible for the production of a pigment called melanin. Melanin is responsible for skin pigmentation and melasma.
Tretinoin decreases the pigmentation on the upper layers of the skin. It also has anti-inflammatory properties.
