Medical Description
CO Symoxyl 200/ syrup is an antibiotic combination used to treat certain bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, chest, lungs, teeth, skin and urinary tract. It contains amoxycillin and clavulanic acid, which work together against bacteria that may resist amoxycillin alone. Amoxycillin weakens the bacterial protective wall, while clavulanic acid protects amoxycillin from enzymes that can inactivate it. CO Symoxyl syrup is taken by mouth only when prescribed, including for children when a doctor considers it appropriate.
