• Cipcal Xt tablet is used for the treatment of different forms of osteoporosis, bone fracture and hypocalcaemia (low levels of calcium).

• Take Cipcal Xt tablet as advised by your doctor.

• Cipcal Xt tablet contains cholecalciferol (vitamin D3), calcium, methylcobalamin (vitamin B12), L-methyl folate calcium, and pyridoxine (vitamin B6).
• Vitamin D3: It plays a very crucial role in the absorption of calcium and phosphorus from the intestine, which is critical for the formation, growth and regeneration of bones. It supports healthy bones, joints and teeth.
• Calcium: It is essential for building and maintaining healthy bones and teeth. It is very important for maintaining the balance of breaking down and building up bones. It supports flexible movements and the mobility of muscles and bones. It also plays a crucial role in nerve transmission, muscle function, cellular signalling and hormone secretion.
• Vitamin B12 or Methylcobalamin: It is essential for the functioning of the brain and the nerves. It also plays a role in the proper functioning of osteoblasts, bone-building cells of the body, by maintaining a balance of two important amino acids, homocysteine and methylmalonic acid.

Interactions with other medicines

• Medicines for thyroid problems (like levothyroxine) might be less effective if taken at the same time.
• Water pills like thiazide diuretics can raise calcium levels in the blood when used with Cipcal XT.
• Medicines for heart problems (like digoxin) could cause more side effects if calcium levels become high.
• Take Cipcal XT at a different time from these medicines, usually with a gap of a few hours, to avoid interactions.
