Medical Description
Cervavac suspension for vaccine is used to help prevent infection with selected human papillomavirus types and related genital warts. It contains a quadrivalent human papillomavirus vaccine that teaches the immune system to recognise four virus types without causing infection. The vaccine stimulates protective antibodies before exposure, so it cannot clear an infection or treat disease that is already present. It is given as an injection by a doctor or nurse to eligible males and females between 9 and 26 years, as advised by a healthcare professional. Cervical screening remains needed after vaccination because protection does not cover every harmful virus type.

- Cervical cancer prevention: Vaccination lowers the chance of cervical cancer linked to covered human papillomavirus types, helping protect eligible people before infection occurs.

- Genital wart prevention: Vaccination helps reduce the chance of genital warts caused by covered human papillomavirus types, though it does not treat existing warts.
