How Does It Work?
The Cadiphylate Elixir is a combination of three medicines. It consists of theophylline, ephedrine and guaifenesin.
Theophylline is a bronchodilator. It has two different actions on the airways. It relaxes the smooth muscles and suppresses the stimuli that cause constricts in the airway. It causes an opening of the airway and makes it easy to breathe.
Ephedrine is a sympathomimetic medication, which acts on certain parts of the nervous system. It indirectly stimulates specific receptors by increasing the activity of norepinephrine, a natural chemical messenger in the body. It helps in reducing the constricting and swelling of blood vessels in the airway. It also relieves nasal congestion and dilates the airway.
Guaifenesin is a mucoactive/expectorant medicine. It loosens the mucus in the airway and makes it easy to cough it out....
