Description
Bisolol H Tablet is an anti-hypertensive medicine. It contains a combination of two medicines - Bisoprolol and Hydrochlorothiazide. It is used to treat mild to moderate high blood pressure. While tak
ing this medicine you should be cautious of your diet and should also exercise regularly. It should be taken as directed by the doctor and in doses and duration as prescribed. It can be taken with or without food. Do not miss any dose or take it more than that recommended by the doctor. Before starting Bisolol H Tablet, it is mandatory to inform your doctor about your past medical history and the medicines you take. Also inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding.

- If you are allergic to Bisoprolol, Hydrochlorothiazide or any other ingredients of Bisolol H Tablet.
- If you have anuria (non-passage of urine)
- If you are suffering from heart problems like heart failure, shock, sinus bradycardia, etc.

- You should let the doctor, or the laboratory person know that you are using Bisolol H Tablet while going for a lab test, as this medicine may interfere with the lab tests.
- Bisolol H Tablet is not recommended for use in patients less than 18 years of age.
- Do not discontinue the treatment suddenly without consulting your doctor, as it may worsen your condition.
Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
- Bisolol H Tablet works by the combined action of its main components – Bisoprolol and Hydrochlorothiazide.
- Bisoprolol works by blocking certain chemicals in the body that affect the heart and blood vessels, thus reducing the heart rate and makes it easier for your heart to pump blood around your body.
- Hydrochlorothiazide works by helping the body get rid of extra fluid or water through urine thus eventually lowering your blood pressure.

Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Bisolol H Tablet works, or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- If you are taking Clonidine (used to treat high blood pressure and various other conditions) concomitantly along with this medicine, and if the treatment has to be discontinued, make sure you discontinue this medicine several days before discontinuing clonidine....
- Concomitant use of Bisolol H Tablet with medicines to treat irregular heartbeat like disopyramide, quinidine, flecainide, amiodarone, medicines to treat migraine-like ergotamine, rizatriptan and adrenaline (epinephrine) used to treat shock may cause high blood pressure or slow heartbeats and thus should be used with caution....
- Concomitant use along with medicines to treat heart diseases like verapamil, diltiazem, nifedipine, nicardipine, dihydropyridine may cause abnormal heart rhythm, low blood pressure, slow heartbeats and heart failure....
- Concomitant use of NSAIDs like indomethacin, ibuprofen may decrease the effects of this medicine.
- Concomitant use along with medicines to treat mental illness like fluvoxamine, imipramine may cause slow heartbeats.
- Concomitant use of Bisolol H Tablet along with tobacco may cause an increase in heart rate and may impair blood pressure control and thus you should avoid smoking tobacco.
- Other medicines like reserpine, guanethidine, lidocaine, warfarin, phenobarbital, mephobarbital, chlorpromazine, cimetidine, hydralazine, imipramine, rifampicin, theophylline, insulin and digoxin should be used with caution....
