Medical Description
Biopanib tablet is used in adults to treat advanced kidney cancer. It is also prescribed for certain soft-tissue sarcomas, which are cancers that develop in supportive tissues, such as muscles, fat, and blood vessels. The main ingredient in this medicine is pazopanib. Biopanib works by blocking specific proteins that contribute to the growth and spread of cancer cells.
Common side effects of this medicine include diarrhea, nausea or vomiting, changes in hair color, and loss of appetite. Your healthcare provider will conduct blood tests to monitor your liver function before and during Biopanib tablet treatment. Biopanib tablet is not recommended for individuals under 18 years of age.
Before taking this medication, inform your doctor if you have a history of heart disease, liver, or kidney problems, or if you are currently using any medications to treat infections. Many other drugs can interact with this medication, so it's essential to inform your healthcare team about all the medications you are taking. This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. It is important for both males and females to use effective contraception during treatment to prevent pregnancy.
