Medical Description

Bio-D3 Plus capsule is a health supplement used for the treatment and prevention of calcium and Vitamin D deficiency. It is also used as supportive therapy for conditions such as osteoporosis where the bones become weak due to low calcium levels. Bio-D3 Plus capsule contains calcium and calcitriol (a form of Vitamin D3) as active ingredients.

Calcium is necessary for the normal functioning of nerves, cells, muscles and bone. Vitamin D helps absorb calcium and phosphorus in the body. Maintaining an optimum level of vitamin D, calcium is important for keeping bones strong. Shelcal HD tablet, Gemcal D3 tablet, Coralium D3 tablet, Cipcal HD tablet and Calten D tablet are a few other medications with a combination of calcium and calcitriol (a form of Vitamin D3) as active ingredients.

Around 90% of Vitamin D is formed under our skin when we are exposed to the sun. So along with the diet and supplement, sun exposure at least twice a week for 10-15 minutes can help prevent Vitamin D deficiency. Bio-D3 Plus capsule should be taken as suggested by the doctor or as per the instruction leaflet.

Bio-D3 Plus capsule is used to treat and prevent calcium and Vitamin D deficiency states such as rickets, osteomalacia, osteoporosis and other bone disorders.
Bio-D3 Plus capsule is also used for calcium supplementation in special populations like the elderly and pregnant and breastfeeding women who need vitamin D and calcium supplements.

Ingredients and Benefits of BIO D3 PLUS STRIP OF 15 CAPSULES

Calcium is important for certain body functions like the maintenance of bone strength and the formation of teeth and bones. It is also essential for the functioning of nerve and muscle cells.
Vitamin D is required for the maintenance of calcium and phosphate levels in the blood for normal mineralization of bone, muscle contraction and general cellular function in the body.
A sufficient amount of vitamin D in the body can prevent osteoporosis or osteomalacia (soft/brittle bones) in adults and the elderly and rickets in children.
Vitamin D also reduces the parathyroid hormone, as too much level of this can affect bones and kidneys.
