Pregnancy

Do not use during pregnancy. This medicine can harm the developing baby. Inform your doctor if pregnant or planning pregnancy.

Breast Feeding

Breast Feeding

Not recommended while breastfeeding. Consult your doctor for alternatives.

Driving

Driving

Dizziness and low blood pressure may impair driving ability. Avoid driving if these symptoms occur. Rise slowly from sitting or lying positions.

Alcohol

Alcohol

Avoid alcohol completely. Alcohol increases hypotension and dizziness risk.

Directions for Use

Swallow the tablet whole with water as directed by your doctor. Take at the same time each day with or without food. Do not crush, break, or chew. Your doctor determines the correct dose based on your condition and response. Do not adjust the dose without medical guidance.

Storage and disposal

  • Check blood pressure regularly, especially during initial weeks of treatment
  • Maintain consistent low-salt diet
  • Report symptoms of dehydration or fainting immediately
  • Attend all scheduled medical check-ups and blood tests

Dosage

Overdose

Overdose may cause very low blood pressure, dizziness, fainting, or kidney problems. Seek emergency medical attention. Treatment is supportive, aimed at maintaining blood pressure and kidney function.

Missed a Dose

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember, unless it is nearly time for the next scheduled dose. Skip the missed dose and continue your regular schedule. Do not take two doses at once.

How does this medicine work?

Dapagliflozin helps the kidneys clear extra sugar and salt from the body, easing fluid buildup and reducing the heart's workload. Sacubitril increases the level of certain natural substances in the body that widen blood vessels and help remove excess salt and water. Valsartan blocks a chemical called angiotensin II that narrows blood vessels and causes the body to hold onto salt and water, allowing blood vessels to relax. Together, these actions ease the strain on the heart.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

Avoid angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor medicines and other angiotensin receptor blocker medicines. Pain relievers such as ibuprofen reduce effectiveness and increase the risk of kidney problems. Potassium-sparing water tablets and supplements increase the risk of high potassium levels. Lithium levels may increase. Inform your doctor of all medications.

Interactions with food items

Maintain a low-sodium diet to support heart failure management. Avoid high-potassium foods unless your doctor directs otherwise. Limit alcohol consumption. Consistent dietary habits help stabilize blood pressure and fluid balance.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

This combination works through three distinct mechanisms: improving cardiac efficiency, enhancing vasodilation, and reducing sodium retention. Together, they provide more comprehensive heart failure management than single-agent therapy.
Sudden weight gain over days suggests fluid retention and heart failure worsening. Monitoring at the same time daily helps detect changes early so your doctor can adjust treatment.
Your doctor will monitor potassium levels most closely, as this medicine may increase potassium. Kidney function, sodium, and creatinine will also be monitored regularly through blood tests.
Yes, generic versions with the same active ingredients are available. Inform your doctor of any switch. Your body may respond slightly differently initially, but generics are equally effective.
