Antiscab 50ml is a combination of Lindane and Cetrimide, which is used widely in treating Scabies. It is also effective in treating head lice. It kills the mites (tiny insects) and their eggs. Usuall
y, it's a one-time application treatment. Antiscab Lotion 50ml should be used for application locally as advised by the physician. Before using this, wash your hands and apply this lotion only to the affected parts. Follow the directions on the label before use. Some common side effects are drowsiness, headache, dry skin, itching, hair loss, and rashes. Consult your doctor if you experience these or any other symptoms which maybe because of this lotion. Inform your doctor if you're allergic to any of the components of the medicine. Your doctor should be informed about all the medicines you take as it's associated with nerve stimulation and can cause seizures if taken with some other medications. - You have any allergies to the components of the medicines.
- You are on any other medicines, supplements, or herbal products you take.
- You suffer from HIV infection or AIDs, seizures, head injury, or a tumour in the brain.
- You witness that the itching persists even after treatment. Moisturiser can be applied to reduce itching.
- The Antiscab Lotion goes into your mouth, eyes, or nose during the application; rinse it with water immediately.
- Lindane containing anti-scabies treatment is considered only if there's radon that other safer medications can't be used or if they have failed to be effective. This is because serious side effects are associated with Lindane, like seizures....
- Bed linen, clothes and towels should be washed with hot water in the machine after the first application of Antiscab Lotion 50ml.
- Take precautionary measures to avoid reinfection with lice. Do not share pillows, combs, towels, brushes, hair accessories, hats, etc. Be sure everyone in a family is treated completely for hair lice.
- For pubic lice, your sexual partner must also receive the proper treatment.

How Does It Work?
Directions for Use of Antiscab Lotion 50ml
- Antiscab Lotion 50ml is for external use only.
- Follow the directions about how to use this lotion on the label that comes along, as per your doctor's advice.
- Wash your hands, shake the bottle well before every use, and evenly apply the required quantity to the affected areas.
- Apply it in a thin layer all over the body (preferably at night); after 8-12 hours, take a bath or shower. Be careful; if it goes into your eyes, mouth or nose, rinse with water there and then.
- Do not use the lotion in more than recommended doses or duration.
- Patients need to know how much to apply, how long to leave it on, and avoid retreatment.
- Itching occurs after the killing of scabies mites and does not indicate retreatment with Antiscab Lotion

Interactions with other medicines
- Antiscab lotion 50 ml has the following interactions with other medicines.
- Oils cause increased absorption of Antiscab lotion on the skin, hence may lead to overdose. Creams, ointments, and oils shouldn't be used simultaneously with this medicine.
- Medicines decreasing the seizure threshold tend to increase seizure risk on CNS stimulation by Antiscab Lotion. These medicines include the following:
- Antidepressants
- Theophylline
- Cyclosporine, mycophenolate mofetil, tacrolimus capsules,
- Penicillins, imipenem, quinolone antibiotics,
- Chloroquine sulfate, pyrimethamine,
- Isoniazid,
- Meperidine,
- Radiographic contrast agents,
- Centrally active anticholinesterases,
- Methocarbamol.
