Anobliss Cream
Description
Anobliss cream is a medication used to treat conditions such as anal fissures and haemorrhoids. Its action is based on a combination of two active ingredients: lidocaine and nifedipine. Lidocaine functions as a local anaesthetic, working on the nerves to block the conduction of pain sensations for a short duration, thereby helping to reduce pain. Nifedipine, a calcium channel blocker, works by relaxing the blood vessels and muscles around the anal canal. This relaxation is crucial because the contraction of the anal sphincter and muscle spasm around the fissure often impedes the healing process.
The dual mechanism of Anobliss cream promotes better healing of the anal fissure by addressing both pain and muscle spasm. By relaxing the muscles, it allows blood to flow more easily, aiding the healing process, and by numbing the area, it provides relief from the pain and inflammation associated with these conditions. You should apply this medicine to the affected area as directed by your doctor, making sure to wash your hands thoroughly before and after application, and ideally using gloves.
While this medicine is for external use and therefore less likely to interact with other medicines, you should still consult your doctor if you are taking any other medicines for other health conditions. It is important to continue using the cream as prescribed, even if you begin to feel better, as complete healing can take time. Avoid using any other medicine on the affected area simultaneously with Anobliss cream.
Do not use Anobliss cream if you have a history of allergy to any of its contents. It is also contraindicated if you have certain medical conditions like anaemia, low blood pressure, dehydration, heart-related disorders, or if you feel an increased pressure in the brain. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is advised to consult your doctor before use. If you experience any adverse effects like rectal bleeding, pain, burning sensation, or blistering, you should report this to your doctor immediately.
Anorelief cream and Fidonal cream also have lidocaine and nifedipine as their active ingredient.
