Andractim Gel

Effect

It is not safe to take Andractim gel with Warfarin, because the hormone absorbed through your skin makes your clotting system far more sensitive to this blood thinner. Your INR can climb sharply and unpredictably, and serious bleeding has been reported.

Effect

Both the hormone in Andractim gel and the steroid Prednisolone make your body hold on to salt and water, through separate hormonal routes. Fluid retention, swollen ankles and raised blood pressure all become more likely than with either one alone.

Effect

The hormone in Andractim gel slows the liver enzymes that clear Ciclosporin from your blood, so Ciclosporin builds up. At those raised levels Ciclosporin is directly poisonous to the kidneys, so your kidney function can get worse.

Effect

Andractim gel makes muscle and fat tissue more sensitive to insulin, which adds to the sugar-lowering push Glimepiride is already giving you. Your blood sugar can fall lower than either treatment would take it on its own.

Effect

The hormone in Andractim gel makes your muscles respond more strongly to insulin. The same Insulin dose therefore drives your blood sugar lower than it used to, and low blood sugar can appear with no change to your food or routine.
