Amlip 5 MG Description
Amlip 5 mg tablet is used for certain heart-related disorders and high blood pressure. It contains amlodipine, which belongs to the class of medications called calcium channel blockers. This medicine
should be used with caution in patients with a known history of liver impairment due to an increased risk of severe adverse effects. This medicine should be used cautiously in the elderly. Amlip 5 should not be used by women who are pregnant or are breastfeeding. Side effects like weakness, dizziness, stomach ache, indigestion can be experienced while using Amlip 5. In case you experience too many side effects or any discomforts due to this medication, contact your doctor immediately. Before using Amlip 5 mg tablet, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history.

Contraindications of Amlip 5 MG
- If you are allergic to this amlodipine or any other ingredients of Amlip 5.
- If you have low blood pressure.
- If you have an abnormal narrowing of the aorta heart valve (Aortic stenosis).
- If you are suffering from a condition where your heart is unable to supply blood to your body (Cardiogenic Shock).
- If you are suffering from heart failure after a heart attack.

How Does It Work?
Directions for Use of Amlip 5 MG
- Take Amlip 5 mg tablet as directed by the doctor.
- It can be taken with or even without food.
- Swallow it as a whole with a glass of water.
- Take the tablet as a whole, do not chew or crush it.
Interactions of Amlip 5 MG
Interactions with other medicines
- Certain medicines can interfere with the action of Amlip 5 mg tablet or Amlip 5 mg tablet itself can affect the action of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Always inform your doctor about all the medicine you are taking, that includes all prescribed or non-prescribed herbal medicines, dietary supplements as well as other treatment if you are taking for any disorders....
- In particular, if you are on certain medications such as antifungal medicines (like ketoconazole), medicines used to treat heart-related disorders, immunosuppressants, etc.
- Other blood pressure lowering medicines should not be used together with Amlip 5 mg tablet as they increase the risk of side effects.
- Muscle relaxant medicines when used together with this medicine, may lower potassium levels.
Interactions with food items
- Grapefruit and grapefruit juice should not be consumed along with Amlip 5 mg tablet, as these can cause a drastic drop in your blood pressure.
- If your doctor has advised you low-salt or low-sodium diet, follow these directions carefully.
