How Does It Work?

Amitriptyline is a tricyclic antidepressant found in Amitone 25mg Tablet. It has sedative and anticholinergic effects. It blocks the reuptake of neurotransmitters like serotonin, found at the nerve terminals in our brain, leading to their deactivation, thereby amplifying the neurotransmitters' activity. This is thought to have antidepressant properties and helps in mood regulation. It also reduces neuropathic pain by blocking pain impulses from neurons to reach the brain.
