Molecule Description
Permethrin is an antiparasitic molecule widely used for the treatment of scabies, a skin infestation caused by the mite Sarcoptes scabiei. It works by paralysing and killing the mites and their eggs, helping relieve symptoms such as intense itching and a pimple-like rash. Permethrin is intended for external use only and should be applied only to unbroken skin as directed by a doctor or pharmacist. Care must be taken to avoid contact with the eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes. Washing hands before and after use ensures proper application and prevents the spread of infection.
