Aceclofenac+Thiocolchicoside is a combination medicine. It is used to provide symptomatic relief from the pain caused mainly due to muscle spasms. It also helps in relieving sprains, strain, muscle ache and musculoskeletal pain. This combination works by inhibiting the transfer of pain signals in the brain centre. It is available in the form of a tablet, capsule. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about all the medicines and supplements you take and all the conditions or diseases you suffer from, before starting aceclofenac+thiocolchicoside.

How Does It Work?

This combination, aceclofenac+thiocolchicoside works by inhibiting the synthesis of natural chemical substance prostaglandins which is responsible for pain and swelling. It relaxes muscle spasms and helps in alleviating muscle stiffness.

Interactions with other medicines

  • Some medicines can affect the way aceclofenac+thiocolchicoside works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
  • Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
  • Increased risk of stomach bleeding, if you take other pain killers, steroids, antidepressants along with this combination.
  • Concomitant use of cyclosporine and tacrolimus (used in organ transplants) can lead to serious kidney damage.
  • There is an increased risk of bleeding if aceclofenac+thiocolchicoside is taken along with other medicines like warfarin.
  • You may experience fluctuations in blood sugar if you are taking anti-diabetic medicines like glimepiride or metformin.
  • Do not take aceclofenac+thiocolchicoside if you have taken mifepristone lately (within 2 weeks).
  • This combination can worsen the heart failure problem if taken with medicines for heart failure like digoxin.
  • You may experience fits if you are taking antibiotics like ciprofloxacin, norfloxacin and ofloxacin.
