Swich dry syrup is commonly prescribed to children for treating various types of bacterial infections in the lungs, throat, airways, nose, ears, skin, tonsils, and sinuses.
Contraindications
- If your child is allergic to cefpodoxime or any of the ingredients of this medicine.
- If your child has a history of severe allergic reactions to any other antibiotic, such as cephalosporins. If you are unsure about which of these medicines to take, ask your doctor.

Storage and disposal
- Store Swich dry syrup at temperature not exceeding 25°C. Protect it from light and moisture.

Interactions with other medicines

- Concomitant use of acid-lowering medicines such as Ranitidine, Cimetidine with Swich dry syrup can decrease the effect of this medicine.
- Concomitant use of Probenecid with Swich dry syrup increases the effect of this medicine.
- When medicines known to cause harm to the kidney such as amphotericin-B, vancomycin, amikacin are administered along with Swich dry syrup may increase the risk of kidney disease.
