Medical Description

Combiflam tablet is a commonly used painkiller medication that helps treat various conditions, including headaches, toothaches, body aches, muscle pain, joint pain, and fever. The active ingredients in Combiflam are Ibuprofen and paracetamol. Combiflam works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain, fever, and inflammation (redness and swelling).

It is recommended to take the tablet with or after food to minimise gastric irritation, especially in individuals with sensitive stomachs. Overuse or self-medication without medical supervision is discouraged due to the potential for gastrointestinal bleeding, liver toxicity, and renal complications, particularly in individuals with pre-existing conditions. You should avoid taking additional paracetamol-containing products while on Combiflam to reduce the risk of liver injury. It's essential to adhere to the prescribed dose and not skip any dose.

Before taking it, tell your doctor if you consume a lot of alcohol, use blood thinners, have asthma, or have liver or kidney problems; the dose or suitability of this medicine may be compromised. It is not recommended for children under 12 years of age. Special caution should be exercised in the elderly or individuals with conditions like asthma, high blood pressure, heart failure, or autoimmune diseases. Though generally well tolerated, side effects may include nausea, dizziness, vomiting, skin rashes, and in rare cases, serious allergic reactions or gastrointestinal bleeding.

Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult their doctor before using it. Inform your doctor about all other medications you are taking because they may interact with it.

Some other tablets containing ibuprofen and paracetamol are Ibugesic Plus and Flexon tablet.
