• If you are allergic to cefixime or any other ingredients of Ziprax Dry Syrup.
• If you are allergic to any other Cephalosporin antibiotics including Penicillin.

• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Stomach pain
• Severe diarrhoea
• Itching or skin rash
• Watery diarrhoea with fever and weakness
• Vaginal discharge
• Headache

Other General Warnings

• You have problems with your liver or kidneys.
• You experience skin reactions after taking Ziprax Dry Syrup.
• You have or had encephalopathy (damage or disease that affects the brain and alters the way the brain works).
• You are suffering from a condition called haemolytic anaemia (a condition where red blood cells get broken down faster than they are formed).
• You experience watery diarrhoea, stomach pain and fever.
• You develop any allergic reaction after using Ziprax Dry Syrup.

• Take Ziprax Dry Syrup as directed by your doctor.
• For reconstitution add boiled and cooled water, slightly below the mark on the bottle or as suggested by the doctor.
• Shake it well and make the volume up to the given mark on the bottle.
• Use a measuring cup, spoon or dropper for the exact quantity.
• Reconstituted solutions should be used within the duration mentioned on the bottle.

• Store Ziprax Dry Syrup below 25°C, protect it from direct sunlight, moisture or heat.
• Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.

Overdose

Missed a Dose

• It is advisable to complete the course of antibiotics and do not miss any dose. If you have missed taking any dose of Ziprax Dry Syrup, take it as early as you remember.
• If it is the time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.
• Do not take a double dose of this medicine to compensate for the missed one.

How Does It Work?

Interactions with other medicines

• Some medicines can affect the way Ziprax Dry Syrup works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
• Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interactions.
• Especially, if you are taking medicines like carbamazepine (a medicine used to treat seizures, medications used for thinning of the blood such as Warfarin).
