It contains a combination of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, sorbitol, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, potassium, magnesium chloride and calcium chloride. Sodium carboxymethyl cellulose forms a lubricating layer, sorbitol helps retain moisture, and the mineral salts, which are electrolytes or body salts, provide components that resemble some of natural saliva. The spray is applied inside the mouth and throat as directed, and may make speaking, eating and swallowing more comfortable.
