Description
Xcure D Syrup 100ml is used for dry cough that contains phenylephrine, chlorpheniramine, and dextromethorphan hydrobromide as the active molecules. It helps to relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezi
ng, runny nose, watery eyes, and throat irritation. It also helps with nasal congestion or stuffiness and reduces breathing problems due to common cold. Xcure D syrup relieves congestion, decreases coughing, and inhibits the activity of a substance called histamine that causes allergic reactions. It can be used in adults and children above two years. You should not consume more amount of syrup than recommended by your doctor.

Mode of Action
How Does It Work?
Xcure D Syrup combines three medicines, i.e., phenylephrine, chlorpheniramine, and dextromethorphan hydrobromide. Phenylephrine relieves congestion in the nose by narrowing the blood vessels present in the nasal passage. Chlorpheniramine inhibits the effects of histamine, a natural substance found in the body that causes allergy symptoms. Dextromethorphan decreases the activity of the part of the brain that causes coughing....
Directions for Use
- Take this medication at the dose and for the duration prescribed by your doctor
- Before using, read the instructions on the label
- Take it by mouth after measuring it with a measuring cup
- Shake vigorously before using
- Xcure D Syrup can be taken with or without food, although it is best if taken at a specific time.
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- The contents of Xcure D Syrup increases the effects of medicines like tricyclic antidepressants, alcohol, barbiturates, and other central nervous system medicines
- Co-administration of monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) increases the activity of Xcure D syrup
- Xcure D Syrup decreases the blood pressure-lowering effects of methyldopa, reserpine, mecamylamines, and veratrum alkaloids
- Co-administration of narcotic medications increases cough-reducing action of Xcure D syrup
Storage and disposal
- Store the syrup away from sunlight and moisture in a firmly closed container
- Store at room temperature between 15-30°C.
- Keep the syrup away from children and pets
- Do not freeze this medicine
- Do not flush or pour the medicine down the toilet
- Do not use Xcure D syrup after expiry date
Dosage
Overdose
In children, overdose can cause hallucinations, excitation, lack of coordination, fever, flushed face, seizures, dilated pupils, and in extreme cases, coma and death. In adults, overdose causes restlessness, dizziness, shaking, irritation, insomnia, talkativeness, high blood pressure, palpitation, flushing, increased urination, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and cramps. Missed a Dose
If you forget to take a dose of Xcure D Syrup, do so as soon as possible. If your next dose is approaching, skip the missing dose and resume your regular schedule. Do not increase the dose.
