There is no data available to show that the effects of Valera M during pregnancy in human beings. However, research studies show that evogleptin was is detected in the blood of young ones of animals that were used for the study. Hence this medicine should not be prescribed to pregnant women.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Valera-M while breastfeeding?

There are no studies conducted on human beings but animal studies show the presence of evogliptin in milk. Various studies show that metformin is detected in the milk of breastfeeding mothers and in the blood of breastfed infants. Caution is necessary when prescribing Valera M for breastfeeding women.

Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed Valera-M?

There is no information available regarding the effects of this medicine affecting the ability to drive a vehicle or while using machines. However, with a potential risk of low blood sugar due to this medicine, it is advisable to be careful while driving and seek medical help in case you develop symptoms of low sugar in the blood.

Q: Can I take insulin with Valera-M?

A: Medications that are used to secrete insulin or insulin injections increase the risk of low sugar levels in blood i.e. hypoglycemia when taken with metformin. Hence it is better to inform the treating doctor if you are on insulin injections before starting this medicine.

Q: Does Valera-M have an effect on fertility?

A: Studies on human beings have not been conducted to observe the effects of Valera-M on fertility. However, studies carried out on animals do not show the harmful effects of high doses of evogliptin and metformin affecting the fertility in both the genders in rats and mice.

Q: Can Valera-M cause cancer?

A: Since no studies were performed on humans there is no data available that show the role of Valera-M in causing cancer. Results from animal studies do not show cancer.
