Medical Description
Urimax 0.4 capsule is a medicine used to relieve symptoms of enlarged prostate, also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), in men. Common symptoms of BPH include painful urination, frequent urge to urinate (especially at night), and difficulty starting or maintaining urine flow. Urimax 0.4 capsule contains tamsulosin as its active ingredient, which works by relaxing the muscles in the prostate gland and the urethra. This helps improve urine flow, reduce discomfort, and allow the bladder to empty more completely.
Your doctor may prescribe Urimax 0.4 capsule based on your condition and medical history. It should be taken precisely in the dose and duration recommended. The capsule can be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day. Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water. Do not cut, chew, or crush it, as this can affect how the medicine works.
Some other medicines containing tamsulosin include Tamlocept 0.4mg capsule, Tamflo 0.4mg capsule, Urimax 0.4mg capsule, Urinfen 0.4mg capsule, and Dynapres 0.4mg capsule. These medicines work in a similar way to relieve urinary symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate. However, you should only use the one prescribed by your doctor, as dosage and formulation can vary.
Before taking Urimax 0.4 capsule, inform your doctor about any allergies, liver or kidney problems, low blood pressure, heart disease, or if you are taking any other prescription medicines, supplements, or herbal products. Urimax is not recommended for use in children under 18 years of age. Do not stop the medicine suddenly without your doctor’s advice, as your symptoms may return.
For best results, maintain a healthy lifestyle along with your medication. Reduce caffeine and alcohol intake, stay hydrated, and follow any diet and exercise recommendations your doctor gives you. If you experience dizziness, fainting, or prolonged painful erections while taking Urimax 0.4 capsule, seek medical help immediately.
