Medical Description

The Udcament suspension is used to slowly dissolve certain cholesterol-based gallstones and to manage a long-term condition of the bile ducts called primary biliary cholangitis. Its active ingredient is ursodeoxycholic acid, which lowers the amount of cholesterol in bile and helps bile flow more smoothly.

Contraindications

If you are allergic to any ingredient of this medicine, do not take it. It is not suitable for stones made of calcium (the type that show up on an x-ray), or if your gallbladder is not working properly. Tell your doctor if you have a blocked or inflamed bile system, ongoing swelling of the bowel, or if you are likely to need surgery on your gallbladder.
