Medical Description

Turgoderm OC cream is a prescription combination medicine used for certain skin infections caused by fungi, bacteria or other susceptible microorganisms. It contains terbinafine, an antifungal, clobetasol, a strong steroid for short-term use as prescribed, ofloxacin, an antibiotic, and ornidazole, which acts against certain bacteria and other microorganisms. Terbinafine and the antimicrobial ingredients target infection, while clobetasol reduces redness, swelling and itching. Turgoderm OC cream is for external use on affected skin only and should not be applied more widely, under airtight coverings or for longer than directed.

Dosage

Overdose

Using too much or applying it too widely can increase irritation and absorption. If you think you have used too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.

Missed a Dose

If you miss an application, apply it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next application, skip the missed one. Do not apply extra product to make up for it.

How does this medicine work?

Terbinafine stops fungi from making an essential protective covering. Ofloxacin prevents susceptible bacteria from reproducing and repairing themselves. Ornidazole damages the genetic material of certain bacteria and other microorganisms. Clobetasol is a strong steroid that reduces inflammatory redness, swelling and itching. The combination should be used only for the infection and duration diagnosed by a doctor.

Interactions

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way Turgoderm OC cream works. Tell your doctor about all the medicines, vitamins and supplements you take. In particular, mention other steroid creams and other antifungal or antibiotic treatments applied to the same area, because combining products may increase irritation or steroid exposure.
