Contraindications
- It is contraindicated in patients with known alprazolam or benzodiazepine hypersensitivity or known allergies to any components in this medication.
- It is contraindicated in patients with acute narrow-angle glaucoma.

Directions for Use
- Trika 0.5 mg Tablet should be taken as prescribed by the treating physician.
- For optimal pharmacological effects, it is recommended to take this medication on a regular schedule, i.e., at the same time every day.
- Swallow Trika Tablet as a whole. Do not chew, break, or crush this medicine.
- It is recommended to finish the full course of Trika Tablet as prescribed by your treating doctor.
- Abrupt stoppage of Trika 0.5 mg Tablet can cause withdrawal side effects. Consult your doctor before stopping this medication.
- Trika Tablet has habit-forming tendencies, hence it is recommended to follow the directions of your treating physician precisely and have regular follow-ups.
- Use cautiously in elderly patients.
- Use cautiously in patients who are at risk of falling.
- Use cautiously in debilitated patients.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Use of Trika 0.5 mg Tablet medication with opioids is contraindicated, as it may cause respiratory depression, coma and death.
- Taking Trika 0.5 mg Tablet with other CNS depressants like alcohol can also cause similar effects and present life-threatening adverse effects.
- Medications that are potent inhibitors of CYP3A can increase plasma concentrations of alprazolam, leading to increased side effects. Such medicines should not be used concomitantly. Examples include azole antifungals (ketoconazole), cimetidine, certain antidepressants (fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, and nefazodone), macrolide antibiotics (clarithromycin), seizure medications (carbamazepine, phenytoin), antihistamines, and muscle relaxants.
- Inform your doctor regarding your current medications at the time of prescription of Trika.
