Trexjoy gel is used under specialist supervision for severe psoriasis when other treatments have not worked. It contains methotrexate, a potent medicine that slows the rapid growth of skin cells and calms some immune activity. This can reduce the build-up of skin cells in affected areas. Trexjoy gel is applied only to affected skin for external use, and methotrexate must not be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It should be used only after the risks and benefits have been discussed with your doctor, followed closely, and kept away from children and other people.
