Medical Description
Uses
- According to CDSCO, Tramazac injection can be used in the management of moderate to severe pain.
- It is also used to manage severe, acute, and chronic pain, surgical pain, and short-term management of acute pain.
Contraindications
- Do not use Tramazac injection without consulting a doctor if you have the following conditions:
- If you have an allergic reaction to any component of Tramazac injection.
- If you are already using similar or different opioid pain relievers, sleeping pills, antidepressants, or antipsychotic medications.
- If you have liver failure or other conditions that affect the liver’s functioning, Tramazac injection increases the risk of adverse reactions.
- If you have stomach and intestinal bleeding or perforation.
- If you have intestinal obstructions, like paralytic ileus. Tramazac injection worsens the condition.
- If you are suffering from breathing issues like asthma and other lung conditions.
- Your body has been in shock, and sufficient blood is not being pumped to all body parts.
- Not for children below 17 years of age, as this injection contains tramadol, an opioid that is contraindicated in children.

- You are trying to get pregnant, as this medicine may reduce fertility in some cases.
- You are an elderly person over the age of 65, as the Tramazac injection stays in the body for long and causes side effects.
Directions for Use
- Tramazac injection can be taken before or after consuming food.
- This injection should be administered by a doctor or a healthcare professional.
- The injection can be given intramuscularly or via slow infusion intravenously (into a vein).
- Wash hands carefully before using this medicine.
- Shake the vial before using it.
- Clean the injection site with rubbing alcohol before injecting.
- Do not take this injection by yourself.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Do not take the Tramazac injection if you are using other similar opioid pain medications, as they can cause serious adverse effects.
- Do not take Tramazac injection if you are on antidepressants such as linezolid, naltrexone, methylene blue, etc. (MAO inhibitors). They can cause increased side effects like drowsiness, dizziness, tremors, lethargy, vomitings, etc.
- Do not take Tramazac injection with antihistamines (allergy medicines) like cetirizine and diphenhydramine, muscle relaxants, sleeping pills, etc., as they can increase the effect of drowsiness.
Interactions with food items
- Tramazac injection does not have any adverse interactions with food. It can be taken before or after consuming food.
