Tossex New Bottle Of 100ml Syrup

• As per CDSCO, Tossex syrup is used in the management of dry cough in conditions such as colds or allergies.

• If you have an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients of Tossex Syrup.
• If you have a cough related to Chronic Smoking.
• If you cough with mucus, this syrup is ineffective in clearing the mucus.
• If you have chronic respiratory conditions like Emphysema (collapsing of the lung, causing shortness of breath) or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, etc.
• If you have a history of medicine dependency.
• If you have severe stomach or intestinal blockage.
• If you have respiratory depression (slow and steady decline of respiration).
• Note - It is better not to give this syrup to children or adolescents below 17 years of age without consulting a doctor, as it contains codeine, an opioid medicine, contraindicated in children.

Other General Warnings

• You have a serious liver or kidney-related condition.
• You are an older person over 65 years, as this syrup can cause excessive side effects.
• You have a tumour of adrenal glands.
• You have a hyperactive thyroid, high blood pressure, glaucoma (increased pressure inside the eye), etc.
• You are using herbal products, ayurvedic medicine, vitamins, or supplements that will interact with this syrup.

• Take a Tossex Syrup exactly as prescribed by the doctor.
• Avoid exceeding the recommended dosage of this medicine, even if the cough has not subsided.
• Do not use this syrup if the package has already been opened.
• Try not to stop taking this medication suddenly, as it can have adverse effects.
• Do not take Tossex Syrup with other medications without informing your doctor.
• You can take this syrup with or without consuming food.

Interactions with other medicines

• If you use this syrup with other antihistamines or anti-allergy medicines like cetirizine and diphenhydramine, there can be increased effects of drowsiness.
• Do not use this syrup if you are taking antidepressants. This can cause serious side effects.
• Excessive drowsiness will occur if you consume Tossex 100 ml Syrup with medications that cause drowsiness, such as sleeping pills, sedatives, etc.

Interactions with food items

• Avoid grapefruit and its juice if possible, as it can reduce the effects caused by this syrup.
