Thelobenz Capsules is a specialist medicine used for multiple myeloma and lepra reactions linked to leprosy. It contains thalidomide, which changes immune activity and can slow the growth of abnormal plasma cells and the new blood vessels that support them. In lepra reactions, this immune effect can calm inflammation that threatens nerves. The capsules are taken by mouth on an empty stomach exactly as prescribed, under specialist monitoring. Thalidomide must not be used during pregnancy and requires strict pregnancy-prevention controls for people who could become pregnant, as well as precautions for sperm and blood donation.
