Tenepure 20 MG Description

Tenepure Tablet is an anti-diabetic medicine. It contains teneligliptin. It is used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. The dose and duration of this medicine will be decided by your treat

ing doctor. It can be taken with or without food. Before initiating the treatment with this medicine you should let your doctor know about your complete medical history. Individuals with high blood sugar or diabetes are at risk of getting various health complications such as eye, kidney and nerve problems, heart diseases and stroke if not controlled well. Hence it is advisable along with taking your diabetes medications regularly as prescribed by your doctor you should also make certain lifestyle modifications. Regular exercise, following low carb diet, avoid smoking, limiting alcohol consumption and maintaining a healthy weight to name a few. You should also regularly check your blood sugar levels.

Uses of Tenepure 20 MG

It is used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in combination with diet and exercise.

Contraindications of Tenepure 20 MG

If you are allergic to teneligliptin or any of the ingredients of this medicine
If your diabetes is uncontrolled and complications like ketosis (serious metabolism-related problem), diabetic coma or pre-coma have developed.
If you have to undergo surgery or are suffering from a serious physical injury and insulin injection is being used for controlling blood sugar.

Side effects of Tenepure 20 MG

Hypoglycemia (decrease in blood sugar level)
Dizziness
Diarrhoea
Headache
Increased body temperature

Precautions and Warnings of Tenepure 20 MG

Pregnancy

Can I take Tenepure Tablet during pregnancy?

There is limited information is available about safety of this medicine in pregnancy. If pregnancy is detected while you are on treatment with this medicine consult your doctor.

Breast Feeding

Can I take Tenepure Tablet while breastfeeding?

Brestfeeding should be discontinued while taking this medicine.

Driving

Can I drive if I have consumed Tenepure Tablet?

This medicine can make you drowsy, so avoid driving.
One should always be careful of symptoms of low blood sugar while driving.
In case you experience dizziness, drowsiness, visual disturbances and sweating, stop driving immediately and have sugar/ juice.
Do not consume sugar-free items when you experience such episodes, keep sugar, juice or a bar of chocolate in your car with you while driving.

Alcohol

Can I consume alcohol with Tenepure Tablet?

Be careful if you consume alcohol in excess or frequently. Alcohol consumption while taking this medicine can lead to low blood glucose.Inform your doctor about your drinking habits and accordingly he may suggest what will work for you.

Other General Warnings

Talk to your doctor if

You have liver and kidney disorders.
You have known history of pancreatitis or you develop sudden pain in the stomach or back, immediately stop the medicine and report to the hospital.
You are malnurished, are dieting, taking irregular meal, doing vigorous muscle exercise and consuming too much of alcohol, then you may experience low blood sugar.
You have undergone any surgery of stomach or intestine.
You have heart problems like irregular heart rhythm and heart failure as it may increase the symptoms further.
You are taking other medicines to treat diabetes like insulin and glimepiride, caution is needed as there can be episodes of fall in blood glucose.
