Telkonol Ct 40/12.5mg Strip Of 10 Tablets
Description
Telkonolct CT tablet is a combined medicine containing telmisartan and chlorthalidone. It is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure) when a single medication is not enough to control it. Telmisartan, an angiotensin II receptor blocker, works by inhibiting a hormone that constricts blood vessels, allowing them to relax and thereby lowering blood pressure. Chlorthalidone, a diuretic, increases the excretion of salt and water through urine, which helps decrease fluid volume and subsequently reduces blood pressure.
High blood pressure, if left untreated, can lead to serious complications such as a heart attack, stroke, kidney disease, and damage to other organs. Telkonolct CT tablet helps control blood pressure and reduces the risk of these complications. It is important to take this medication exactly as prescribed by your doctor and not to stop it suddenly, even if you start to feel better. Stopping medication abruptly can cause your blood pressure to rise again, increasing the risk of health problems.
Along with taking Telkonolct CT tablet, adopting a healthy lifestyle is vital for blood pressure management. This includes eating a diet low in salt and fat, maintaining a healthy weight, exercising regularly (for example, 30 minutes a day), avoiding smoking, and limiting alcohol intake. These lifestyle changes, together with your medication, can significantly improve blood pressure control and your overall heart health.
Telkonolct CT tablets should be taken whole with plenty of water, with or without food, as advised by your doctor. It is essential to inform your healthcare provider about any other medications, supplements, or herbal products you are using to prevent potential interactions. Particular care is needed if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have pre-existing liver or kidney conditions. Regular checks of your blood pressure and follow-up appointments with your doctor are necessary to ensure the effectiveness and safety of the medication.
