Uses
- As per CDSCO, Tedykoff Syrup is used for symptomatic relief of dry, ticklish, and unproductive coughs.
Contraindications
- If you are hypersensitive to the active substance or any of the ingredients.
- If you have or are at risk of developing respiratory failure or during an attack of asthma.
- If you have conditions of the respiratory tract such as chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchiolitis, or bronchiectasis due to sputum retention.
- If you are being treated with monoamine oxidase inhibitors or within two weeks of cessation of their use
- If you have been in a coma before or suffering from CNS depression of any cause.
- In cases of liver failure.
- In children under two years.

- You have any renal, hepatic or respiratory disease, including a history of asthma.
- You have diabetes. Certain precautions may be needed to maintain blood sugar levels.
- You have a history of addiction. Caution is needed in patients with such a history. Pholcodine is an opioid, and addiction is observed with opioids as a class.
Directions for Use
- The bottle should be shaken well before pouring the Tedykoff Syrup into the cup.
- Take the Tedykoff Syrup in quantity prescribed and swallow it with a glass of water as directed by your doctor.
- Take it only in the dose and duration as prescribed by a medical professional.
- The dosage may be repeated after 4 hours if required but not more than four doses in 24 hours.

Interactions with other medicines
- Patients on Monoamine oxidase or within 14 days of stopping treatment should not take Tedykoff Syrup as it increases the chances of side effects.
- Its use is to be avoided with medications that have a depressant action on the brain (central nervous system). This includes opioid painkillers, sedatives, and certain general anaesthetics.
- It should be avoided with sedatives and hypnotics (belonging to classes such as barbiturates or benzodiazepines) such as clonazepam, alprazolam, or diazepam. Concomitant use can result in excessive drowsiness.
- The use of medications used to lower blood pressure, such as furosemide or spironolactone, should be avoided as it can cause an excessive drop in blood pressure.
