Taxim-O Forte Dry Syrup

• If your child is allergic to cefixime or any other ingredients of Taxim-O Forte dry syrup.
• If your child is allergic to any other Cephalosporin antibiotics including Penicillin.

• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Stomach pain
• Severe diarrhoea
• Itching or skin rash
• Watery diarrhoea with fever and weakness
• Vaginal discharge
• Headache

Other General Warnings

• Your child has problems with your liver or kidneys.
• Your child experience skin reactions after taking Taxim-O Forte dry syrup.
• Your child has or had encephalopathy (damage or disease that affects the brain and alters the way the brain works).
• Your child is suffering from a condition called haemolytic anaemia (a condition where red blood cells get broken down faster than they are formed).
• Your child experience watery diarrhoea, stomach pain and fever.
• Your child develop any allergic reaction after using Taxim-O Forte dry syrup.

• Take Taxim-O Forte dry syrup as directed by your doctor.
• For reconstitution add boiled and cooled water, slightly below the mark on the bottle or as suggested by the doctor.
• Shake it well and make the volume up to the given mark on the bottle.
• Use a measuring cup, spoon or dropper for the exact quantity.
• Reconstituted solutions should be used within the duration mentioned on the bottle.

• Store Taxim-O Forte dry syrup below 25°C, protect it from direct sunlight, moisture or heat.
• Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.

Overdose

Missed a Dose

• It is advisable to complete the course of antibiotics and do not miss any dose. If you have missed taking any dose of Taxim-O Forte dry syrup, take it as early as you remember.
• If it is the time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.
• Do not take a double dose of this medicine to compensate for the missed one.

How Does It Work?

Interactions with other medicines

• Some medicines can affect the way Taxim-O Forte dry syrup works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
• Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interactions.
• Especially, if you are taking medicines like carbamazepine (a medicine used to treat seizures, medications used for thinning of the blood such as Warfarin).
