Medical Description

Sudex Expt oral liquid is a combination medicine used for cough with thick mucus, particularly when a child has difficulty clearing phlegm. It contains ambroxol, guaifenesin and terbutaline. The mucolytic ambroxol thins mucus, guaifenesin helps loosen airway secretions, and terbutaline relaxes narrowed airway muscles. Sudex Expt oral liquid is shaken, measured and taken by mouth with or without food as prescribed, and it should be used in children only when selected by a doctor.

How does this medicine work?

The mucolytic ingredient ambroxol thins and loosens phlegm in the airways. The expectorant ingredient guaifenesin makes airway secretions less sticky and easier to clear. The bronchodilator ingredient terbutaline relaxes the muscles around narrowed airways, which can improve airflow.
