Uses
- Sove 10 mg Tablet is used in,
- Treatment of sleeplessness
- Treatment of night awakenings
- Treatment of disturbed sleep
Contraindications
- If you are allergic to zolpidem or other ingredients of Sove 10 mg Tablet.
- If you have myasthenia gravis (a condition that causes uncontrolled muscle tremors).
- If you have a history of sleep apnoea (difficulty in breathing while sleeping).
- If you have been diagnosed with mental health conditions.
- If you have glaucoma (increased intra-eye pressure due to eye defects).
- If you have a history of narcotics or substance abuse.
- If you have a history of not remembering things after taking sleeping medication.
- If you are lactose intolerant.
- Sove 10 mg Tablets are not recommended for anyone below the age of 18.
- Sove 10 mg Tablets are not recommended for mentally or severely physically challenged patients.

- You experience any allergy after taking Sove 10 mg Tab, like rashes, hives, or swelling on the face.
- You want to increase/decrease the dose of the medication.
- You experience side effects that are too severe and disrupt your everyday life.
- You experience persistent side effects.
- You want to stop taking Sove 10 mg Tab.
- You have missed any dose/doses of Sove 10 mg Tab.
- You conceive during the course of Sove Tab or are planning a pregnancy.
Directions for Use
- Sove 10 mg Tablet is to be taken orally with water, preferably 20 to 40 minutes before sleeping at night.
- Do not chew or crush Sove Tablet.
- It is advised to keep a gap of 1 to 2 hours between your last meal and the medication as the fat content of food influences the absorption of the medication and may reduce its efficacy.
- Check the expiry of Sove Tablets before taking it.
- Take the medication only if you plan to sleep for 6 to 8 hours at a stretch.
- Do not take the medication if you have to wake up a few hours after taking the medicine as it may cause dizziness, lightheadedness, nausea, and disorientation.

Interactions with food items
- There are no reports of any specific food that interacts with Sove Tablets to cause side effects. Unless advised otherwise by the doctor, a regular diet can be continued.
- Alcohol is prohibited while on Sove 10 mg Tablet, as it may increase the severity of side effects like nausea, lightheadedness, dizziness, disorientation, and vomiting.
Other general Interactions
- To avoid side effects related to medicine interaction, you must inform your doctor about all medicines and supplements you are currently taking at the time of prescription.
- Sove 10 mg Tablets develops adverse reactions on interaction with the following medicines:
- Antibiotics like rifampicin tend to reduce its efficacy. You may need to take a higher dose when taking both medicines.
- Antibiotics like erythromycin decrease the metabolism of zolpidem, thus increasing its concentration in the blood. Dose adjustment will be required.
- Antifungals Like ketoconazole increase the level of Sove Tablet in the body. Excess of Sove may lead to side effects like dizziness, disorientation, and headaches.
- Antiallergics like cimetidine increase the level of Sove 10 mg Tablet in the body.
