Medical Description
Solitral capsule contains a combination of alfuzosin and solifenacin as active substances. It is used in the management of the symptoms of benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH). BPH is a condition of enlargement of the prostate gland. Solitral capsule is also used to manage the need to urinate frequently and the sudden, strong urge to urinate without prior warning. Take this medicine in the exact dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop taking this medicine on your own. Before starting Solitral capsule, inform your doctor about your complete medical history.

Uses of SOLITRAL 10/5MG STRIP OF 10 CAPSULES
- Solitral capsule is used to manage the symptoms of benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH) - a condition of enlargement of the prostate gland.
- It is also used for the management of the symptoms of an overactive bladder - like a strong, sudden urge to urinate without prior warning or having to urinate frequently.
Contraindications of SOLITRAL 10/5MG STRIP OF 10 CAPSULES
- If you are allergic to alfuzosin, solifenacin or any of the other ingredients of Solitral capsule.
- If you are taking a medicine called an alpha-blocker. If you are not sure what these medicines are, please confirm with your doctor.
- If you have orthostatic hypotension - a condition of low blood pressure that occurs when standing after sitting or lying down.
- If you have liver or kidney disorders.
- If you are unable to empty your bladder completely.
- If you have a severe stomach or bowel condition.
- If you have a condition called myasthenia gravis.
- If you have a condition of increased pressure in the eyes (glaucoma).
- If you are undergoing kidney dialysis.
- If you have a severe kidney disorder or moderate liver disorder and are taking medicines that may decrease the removal of Solitral capsule.

Other General Warnings
- You have heart problems or if your heart suddenly stopped pumping efficiently.
- You have liver or kidney disorders.
- You are taking medicines for the management of high blood pressure (like anti-hypertensives or nitrates).
- You are elderly.
- You have hereditary problems with the way your heart beats (congenital QTc prolongation).
- You have heart-related chest pain.
- You are scheduled for cataract surgery.
- You notice painful erections of the penis, unrelated to sexual activity, that will not go away, before or during treatment with this medicine.
- You are unable to empty your bladder or have difficulty in passing urine.
- You have a blockage in your digestive system.
- You are at risk of your digestive system slowing down (stomach and bowel movements).
- You have a stomach tear (hiatus hernia) or heartburn (gastroesophageal reflux) or are taking medicines that can cause/increase the damage to the oesophagus.
- You have a nerve disorder (autonomic neuropathy).

- Take Solitral capsule as a whole with sufficient water.
- This medicine should preferably be taken after a meal.
- Always take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
- Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
- Do not consume more than the prescribed dose.
- Do not discontinue the medicine on your own without consulting your doctor.

- Store Solitral capsule in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.

Overdose
- If you think you have taken too much of Solitral capsule, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
Missed a Dose
- If you missed any dose of Solitral capsule, take it as soon as you remember.
- If it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.
- Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed one.

- Solitral capsule contains a combination of alfuzosin and solifenacin as active substances.

Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Solitral capsule works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Inform your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Solitral capsule should not be taken with other alpha-blockers such as doxazosin, indoramin.
- The use of Solitral capsule is not recommended with medicines used for treating heart-related chest pain, fungal infections (itraconazole), HIV (ritonavir), bacterial infections (clarithromycin), depression (nefazodone)....
- Particular care should be taken if you are taking medicines for managing high blood pressure (anti-hypertensives and nitrates), heartburn due to GERD (cisapride, metoclopramide), heart-related chest pain (verapamil, diltiazem), tuberculosis (rifampicin), fits/seizures (phenytoin, carbamazepine) and medicines that can cause/increase the damage to the oesophagus (bisphosphonates)....
- Solitral capsules, when used with other anticholinergic medicines, can increase the side effects of both medications and cholinergics can reduce the effect of this medicine.
