Uses
- According to CDSCO Sizodon Md 2 mg is used,
- Treatment of schizophrenia
- Treatment of the manic disorder
- Preventing mania symptoms from reappearing
- Treatment of bipolar disorder (Manic Depression)
Contraindications
- If you are allergic to the active or inactive components of Sizodon Md 2 mg Tabs.
- If you have dementia-related psychosis. Sizodon Tabs raise the risk of cardiac illness and infectious diseases, such as pneumonia.
- If you have gastrointestinal illnesses.
- If you are frequently suffering from urinary tract infections.
- If you have Neuroleptic Malignant Syndrome (NMS).

Other General Warnings
- You experience involuntary tongue, lip, and face movements if you have tardive dyskinesia.
- You have a liver disease.
- You have a history of seizures.
- You have a kidney disease.
- You may become more susceptible to temperature changes when using Sizodon Md 2 mg Tablet. Thus, it's best to avoid becoming dehydrated, especially during the summer. To cope with this, drink enough fluids.
- Your blood glucose and cholesterol levels show an increase while taking this medication.
- You must be cautious while giving Sizodon Md to the elderly. They might encounter an increased risk of orthostatic hypotension and renal injury.
- Sizodon Tablet should not be administered to children under 13 years who have schizophrenia or children under 10 years who have bipolar illness.
Directions for Use
- To use the Sizodon Md Tablet, follow your doctor's instructions.
- For optimal pharmacological effects, take the recommended dosage Sizodon Md Tablet at the same time every day for the prescribed duration.
- Swallow Sizodon Md Tablet as a whole with water. Do not crush or chew it.
- Do not stop taking or alter the dosage of Sizodon Md tabs without consulting your doctor.
- Do not stop taking Sizodon Md 2 mg abruptly, even if your symptoms improve.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- When used with risperidone(active ingredient of Sizodon Md), Tramadol (narcotic group) may increase the risk of seizures.
- Sizodon Md 2mg tablets may counteract the effects of CNS medications like levodopa.
- Risperidone serum concentrations are reduced by anticonvulsants like carbamazepine.
- Risperidone clearance in the liver is reduced by clozapine and other antipsychotics.
- Drowsiness, dry mouth, flushing, and memory problems may develop when risperidone is used with dextromethorphan (antitussive) and doxylamine (antihistamines).
- Adverse effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, and difficulty concentrating may occur when risperidone is used with analgesics like Vicodin, acetaminophen and hydrocodone.
