Scabac C Lotion is an anti-scabies medicine. Scabies is a skin condition that is caused by a mite. Scabac C Lotion contains a combination of cetrimide and gamma benzene hexachloride as active substa
nces. It is used for the treatment of scabies only in patients who cannot tolerate other medicines or who have failed treatment with other approved medicines. Do not use this medicine to treat any other skin conditions other than that prescribed by your doctor. Scabac C Lotion is meant for external application only. Do not use more of the medicine or apply it more often than recommended. Particular care should be taken when using Scabac C Lotion in infants, children, the elderly, individuals with other skin conditions like atopic dermatitis or psoriasis or those individuals who weigh less than 50 kg.

Contraindications of Scabac C Lotion
- If you are allergic to cetrimide, gamma benzene hexachloride or any of the other ingredients of Scabac C Lotion.
- In body cavities like the mouth or ear or as an enema (a treatment to clean the bowel).
- If you are using Scabac C Lotion near the eyes and middle ear and surrounding areas.
- If you are using this medicine in premature infants.
- If you have crusted (Norwegian) scabies and other skin conditions (atopic dermatitis, psoriasis).
- If you have a known uncontrolled seizure/fits disorder.

Mode of Action of Scabac C Lotion
How Does It Work?
- Scabac C Lotion contains cetrimide and gamma benzene hexachloride as active substances.
- Cetrimide is an antiseptic medicine that kills or stops the growth of microorganisms that cause scabies.
- Gamma benzene hexachloride is an anti-parasitic medicine that gets directly absorbed into the parasites and their ova (mature female reproductive cell) and kills the scabies-causing parasite.

- Use Scabac C Lotion as directed by your doctor.
- This medicine is for external use only.
- Apply it on a healthy skin surface free from cuts and wounds.
- Wash your hands before and after using this medicine unless your hands are the area to be treated.
- In case your eyes come in contact with this medicine, rinse your eyes with clean water immediately.

Interactions with other medicines
- Since Scabac C Lotion is to be used externally on the skin, it is less likely to interact with other medicines.
- However, always consult your doctor if you are taking other medicines for treating other health conditions.
- Particular care should be taken if you are taking medicines like antipsychotics, antidepressants, theophylline (used to treat asthma/chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), cyclosporine, mycophenolate mofetil, tacrolimus (used to prevent organ rejection after a transplant), penicillins, imipenem, quinolone antibiotics (used for the treatment of bacterial infections), chloroquine (used to treat and prevent malaria), pyrimethamine (used to treat toxoplasmosis), isoniazid (used for the treatment of tuberculosis), meperidine (used to treat pain), methocarbamol (used to relax muscles) and centrally active anticholinesterases....
- Radiographic contrast agents when used with Scabac C Lotion may increase the chance of seizures/fits.

- Store Scabac C Lotion at 20°C - 25°C.
- Keep it out of the reach of children and pets.
