Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Do not take Rollosert tablets with disulfiram (medication used to treat alcohol addiction) because sertraline oral concentrate has alcohol, which can cause severe vomiting.
- Avoid other similar medicines that increase levels of serotonin in the body, such as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors (SNRIs), triptans, etc. The combined effect of these medicines with Rollosert tablets can lead to serotonin toxicity, causing life-threatening side effects like vomiting, high heart rate, and even death.
- Using Rollosert tablets with medications like aspirin, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), blood thinners (warfarin), antiplatelet medicines, etc., can lead to an increased risk of bleeding.
- Consuming Rollosert tablets with other antidepressants like methylene blue, linezolid, etc., can lower the metabolism of serotonin, which can be fatal.
- Taking Rollosert tablets with the antipsychotic medicine pimozide can cause bleeding or bruising.
Interactions with food items
- Avoid cola drinks, chocolate and food items with caffeine. They increase serotonin levels and may result in serotonin syndrome, a serious condition marked by symptoms like high fever, agitation, vomiting, nausea, fast heartbeat, trembling, sweating, and sudden jerky movements of the muscles.
