Medical Description

Resporidex capsule is used for certain bacterial respiratory tract infections when thick mucus is present. It contains a combination of cefalexin, an antibiotic that stops susceptible bacteria from building their protective covering, and bromhexine, which thins and loosens phlegm. Together, they help treat the infection and make mucus easier to cough out. Resporidex capsule is taken by mouth, whole with water, and may be used with or without food as prescribed.

In particular, mention probenecid, which can raise cefalexin levels, medicines that affect kidney function, blood thinners and other antibiotics. These combinations may require medical monitoring.
