Medical Description
Remo V tablet is a combination of remogliflozin etabonate and vildagliptin, used to manage blood sugar levels in adults with type 2 diabetes, especially when other treatments, such as metformin alone, are not enough. It helps improve blood sugar control, especially after meals and throughout the day. It should be taken as advised by your doctor, usually with or after food to reduce side effects, and always at the same time each day.
Remogliflozin works by helping your kidneys remove extra sugar from your body through urine, which may also lead to slight weight loss and lower blood pressure. Vildagliptin increases the release of insulin after meals and reduces sugar production in the liver, helping to maintain more stable blood sugar levels. These effects are most effective when combined with a healthy diet and regular physical activity.
Common side effects may include constipation, diarrhoea, weakness, fever, and urinary tract infections. If you have any allergies to the ingredients, please inform your doctor before starting. If you miss a dose, take it with food as soon as you remember, unless it's almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed one. Do not take extra doses to make up for a missed dose.
The medicine is generally safe with other common drugs for diabetes, blood pressure, and cholesterol, but it may slightly reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills and increase the risk of swelling when used with ACE inhibitors. It is also important to be cautious if you are using steroids, water pills, or cold medications, as they can affect how well this medicine works.
Avoid using this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as its safety is not known in such conditions. Let your doctor know if you have liver or kidney problems, or if you feel very tired, nauseous, short of breath, or have stomach pain, which could be signs of serious side effects. If you notice skin rashes, foot issues, pain in the genital area, or signs of infection, please report them immediately.
Uses
- To improve glycaemic control when metformin and one of the mono-components of the fixed-dose combination of remogliflozin etabonate & vildagliptin do not provide adequate glycaemic control.
- When already being treated with the free combination of remogliflozin etabonate & vildagliptin.

- You have type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, liver disease, or serious kidney problems, as these medicines may not be safe for you.

- You are on water pills, sulfonylureas (like glimepiride), or birth control pills, as these may interact or increase side effects like low blood sugar or reduced effectiveness.
- You notice unusual skin issues, foot problems, urinary infections, or genital pain or swelling; these may be signs of rare but serious reactions.

- Remo V tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor.
- Swallow it whole with a glass of water.
- It should be taken with or after a meal to reduce its side effects.
- It is best to take it at a fixed time for optimal results, and you should not consume it more than prescribed by your doctor.

Interactions
Interactions with other medicines

- Vildagliptin may have a slightly increased risk of swelling (angioedema) when taken with ACE inhibitors like ramipril.
- Steroids, water pills, thyroid medicines, and certain cold medications may make vildagliptin less effective at lowering blood sugar.
- Remogliflozin Etabonate is also unlikely to interact with most medicines, including metformin, diuretics, and bupropion.
- It may slightly reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills, so use non-hormonal contraception during treatment.
- Medicines that boost liver enzyme activity may make remogliflozin less effective.
- There is a small risk of low blood sugar when remogliflozin is taken with glimepiride, but this was not seen in human studies.
