Remo MV 500 tablet is an anti-diabetic medication. It is used to improve the levels of blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus along with diet and exercise. Remo MV 500 tablet contains a combination of remogliflozin, metformin and vildagliptin as active substances. It works by maintaining a normal concentration of blood sugar and keeping diabetes adequately controlled. Take Remo MV 500 tablet in the exact dose and duration as prescribed by your doctor. Before starting this medicine, inform your doctor if you are pregnant/breastfeeding and about your complete medical history. - To improve the levels of blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus along with diet and exercise.
- In combination therapy- when other medications, such as insulin, are unable to control blood sugar levels adequately.
Contraindications of REMO MV 500MG STRIP OF 10 TABLETS
- If you are allergic to vildagliptin, remogliflozin, metformin or any other ingredient of Remo MV 500 tablet.
- If you have kidney disorders.
- If you have dehydration, severe infection or shock.
- If you have been given iodinated contrast agents within your veins.
- If you have congestive heart failure.
- If you have metabolic acidosis - a condition where there is too much acid in the body fluids, with or without coma.
- If you have any disease which may cause a deficiency of oxygen supply to the tissues, like heart failure, recent heart attack or shock.
- If you are breastfeeding.
- If you are addicted to alcohol.

Other General Warnings
- You have Type 1 diabetes. This medicine should not be taken in such cases.
- You have diabetic ketoacidosis (a serious complication of diabetes).
- You have kidney or liver disease.
- You have any kind of heart disease.
- You have or have had a history of disease of the pancreas.
- You develop severe joint pain after taking this medicine.
- You have any condition that may cause dehydration (severe diarrhoea or vomiting, fever or reduced fluid intake).
- You take medicines called diuretics like furosemide, ethacrynic acid, hydrochlorothiazide, spironolactone, acetazolamide (used to treat fluid accumulation), blood pressure reducing medicines or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines like aspirin/ibuprofen (used to treat pain, fever and inflammation)....
- You drink alcohol regularly.
- Your diabetes is inadequately controlled or you have ketosis.
- You have been fasting for a long duration.
- You have any disease which may cause a deficiency of oxygen supply to the tissues, like heart failure, recent heart attack or shock.
- You develop symptoms like abdominal pain, muscle cramps, weakness and hypothermia after taking this medicine.
- You experience nausea, vomiting, anorexia, abdominal pain, excessive thirst, difficulty breathing, confusion, unusual fatigue or sleepiness after taking Remo MV 500 tablet.
- You have been scheduled for the administration of iodinated contrast agents within your veins.
- You are scheduled for surgery under anaesthesia.
- You have low vitamin B12 levels.
- You are elderly, debilitated or malnourished.
- You do strenuous exercise.
- You develop a urinary tract infection (burning sensation while urinating, cloudy urine, strong-smelling urine, red, bright pink or cola-coloured urine).
- You develop symptoms like pain or tenderness, redness of the skin or swelling in the genital or perineal area, along with fever or general discomfort after taking Remo MV 500 tablet.
- You take oral contraceptives as a method of birth control.
Directions for Use of REMO MV 500MG STRIP OF 10 TABLETS
- Take Remo MV 500 tablet as a whole with sufficient water.
- Always take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor.
- Take this medicine at the same time every day, preferably with meals, for optimal benefits.
- Do not cut, break or chew the medicine.
- Do not consume more than the prescribed dose.
- Do not discontinue the medicine on your own without consulting your doctor.

- Store Remo MV 500 tablet in a cool and dry place away from direct sunlight.

Overdose
- Symptoms of overdose of Remo MV 500 tablet include fever, swelling in the hands, arms, legs or feet, muscle pain and burning or prickling sensation.
- If you think you have taken too much of this medicine, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearest hospital.
Missed a Dose
- You should never miss your blood sugar medicines as they may lead to high blood sugar and symptoms associated with it.
- However, if you missed any dose of the medicine, take it as soon as you remember.
- If it's time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule.
- Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed one.

How Does It Work?
- Remo MV 500 tablet contains a combination of vildagliptin, metformin and remogliflozin as active substances.
- Vildagliptin indirectly increases the activity of certain chemicals in the body that increase the levels of insulin after a meal.
- Metformin stops the production of glucose and also reduces its absorption in the body.
- Remogliflozin causes the excretion of blood sugar through urine by preventing the reabsorption by the kidney.

Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Remo MV 500 tablet works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.

- Particular care should be taken if you are taking furosemide (used for treating fluid accumulation) and nifedipine (used for treating high blood pressure).
- The levels of Remo MV 500 tablet in the body may be increased when used together with medicines like cimetidine (used to treat acidity and peptic ulcers), dolutegravir (used for the management of HIV), ranolazine (used for the management of heart-related chest pain), vandetanib (used to manage thyroid cancer)....
- Remo MV 500 tablet taken along with ACE inhibitors like enalapril and angiotensin II receptor antagonists like losartan (used to manage high blood pressure) may increase the risk of lactic acidosis.
- Certain medicines when used together with Remo MV 500 tablets may lead to loss of blood sugar control.
