Uses
- Treatment of bipolar disorder with depression
- Treatment of bipolar disorder with mania
- Treatment of insomnia
- Treatment of schizophrenia
- Treatment of major depressive disorder
- Treatment of agitation and/delirium for ICU patients
Contraindications
- If you have hypersensitivity to quetiapine
- If you have liver disease
- If you have heart problems
- If you have high blood pressure
- If you have low blood pressure
- If you have abnormal thyroid levels
- If you have abnormal prolactin levels
- If you have low white blood cell count (WBCs)
- If you have seizures
- If you have glaucoma
- If you have cataract
- If you have constipation
- If you have urinary problems
- If you have an enlarged prostate
- If you have high triglycerides
- If you have high cholesterol
- If you have diabetes
- If you have trouble swallowing

- You have muscle stiffness.

Directions for Use
- Take Qutan Tablet as directed by your physician.
- You can take Qutan 50 mg Tablet with or without food as per your wish.
- The tablet is usually given as a night dose after dinner because it causes sedation and postural hypotension.
- Take the tablet orally and swallow it whole.
- Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.
- Please take it in one go.
- Avoid abrupt withdrawal of the tablet.

Interactions with other medicines
- Antihypertensives - medicines used to lower blood pressure
- Medicines prolonging QT interval
- Levodopa
- Phenytoin
- Carbamazepine
- Indinavir
- Ritonavir
- Ketoconazole
- Itraconazole
- Thioridazine
- Macrolides
- Antifungals
- Qutan may cause an interaction if consumed with any of the medicines mentioned above. The interaction between these two medicines can cause an adverse effect on the body. Additionally, in some cases, these medicines interact with each other and can decrease the effectiveness of either.
Interactions with food items
- Avoid having grapefruit or its juice with Qutan Tablet. Also, avoid consuming alcohol with this medication.
