Qutan 50 MG Description
Qutan Tablet is a psychiatric medicine. It belongs to a class of medications called atypical antipsychotics. The active component of this medicine is quetiapine. Qutan Tablet is used in the treatment
of many neurotic and psychotic conditions like schizophrenia, acute treatment of manic disorders, or mixed episodes associated with bipolar disorder. This medication is better than the typical group of antipsychotics as it possesses lesser side effects. However, it may cause a wide range of side effects, beginning from mild agitation, dizziness, drowsiness, and headache to heart and stomach-related side effects in some others.

Pregnancy

It is not safe to consume Qutan 50 mg Tablet during pregnancy. This medication, especially during the last three months of pregnancy, can harm the growing baby and put the baby at risk of extrapyramidal symptoms (abnormal movement disorder) post-delivery and withdrawal symptoms.

Mode of Action of Qutan 50 MG
How Does It Work?
Qutan tablet acts by blocking certain areas of receptors in the brain, namely dopamine, serotonin, and adrenergic receptors.
Directions for Use of Qutan 50 MG
- Take Qutan Tablet as directed by your physician.
- You can take Qutan 50 mg Tablet with or without food as per your wish.
- The tablet is usually given as a night dose after dinner because it causes sedation and postural hypotension.
- Take the tablet orally and swallow it whole.
- Do not crush, chew, or break the tablet.
- Please take it in one go.
- Avoid abrupt withdrawal of the tablet.

Storage and disposal of Qutan 50 MG
Store the Qutan 50 mg Tablet at room temperature in a cool, dry place away from heat and humidity. Keep it in a place where children and pets can't reach it. Unused tablets must be disposed of.
Dosage of Qutan 50 MG
Overdose
Qutan 50 mg Tablet overdose may occur in cases of accidental, intentional or unintentional consumption of the medication. There have been prior cases reported with patients presenting with increased heart rate, breathlessness, increased blood sugar, decreased blood pressure, and in extreme cases, coma. In case of an overdose, please reach the nearest hospital or consult your family doctor as soon as possible so that the best treatment can be made available for the patient in the least available time....
Missed a Dose
If a tablet of Qutan 50 mg is missed, there isn't anything to worry about. Take the tablet as soon as you remember. Avoid taking the dose during the daytime if you are a working person. If the time by which you remember the missed dose is just near the next dose, then skip the missed dose and take the usual dose. Never consume two doses at the same time....
