Pitastat Tablet is a class of medicines known as statins. It is used to lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of heart disease. You can take it with a meal or on an empty stomach, and it’s bes
t to take it at the same time each day. While taking this medication, you may maintain your usual diet, but it is advisable to avoid foods high in fat. Common side effects may include muscle pain, back pain, diarrhea, constipation, and extremity pain. These side effects are usually mild and tend to resolve after a short time. However, consult your doctor if they persist, or if you notice any yellowing of your eyes or experience repeated or unexplained muscle pains. This medication should not be used in individuals with liver disease. Pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers should also avoid it, as it may harm a developing baby. Diabetic patients should monitor their blood sugar levels while taking this medication, as it may lead to an increase in blood sugar.
