Piptaz 2.25gm Dry Vial Of 1 Powder For Injection Description
Piptaz 2.25gm Inj is an antibiotic containing a combination of Piperacillin and Tazobactam. Piptaz injection is used to treat bacterial infection of lungs, urinary tract, reproductive tract, stomach-
intestine, soft tissues, joints. It belongs to the high-end antibiotics, used when other antibiotics do not provide optimal benefit. This medicine acts by killing the infection-causing bacteria along with inactivating the enzymes they produced to maximize the effect of the medicine. Piptaz 2.25gm injection will be administered intravenously under the medical supervision of a doctor or nurse at a hospital or clinical setup. Do not take this medicine orally.

Uses of Piptaz 2.25gm Dry Vial Of 1 Powder For Injection
- Piptaz 2.25gm injection is used to treat serious and complicated bacterial infections of stomach and abdominal, skin and soft tissue, diabetic foot due to uncontrolled diabetes and pneumonia.
- It is used only when infection cannot be controlled by other antibiotics.
Contraindications of Piptaz 2.25gm Dry Vial Of 1 Powder For Injection
- If you are allergic to piperacillin and tazobactam or any of the ingredients of Piptaz 2.25gm injection.
- If you have a history of severe allergic reactions to any other antibiotic like Cephalosporins, Monobactam and Carbapenem.

- You have problems with kidney function
- You have weakness, fatigue, muscle cramps or low levels of potassium.
- Piptaz 2.25gm injection should not be used in children below 2 years of age.

How Does It Work?
- Piptaz 2.25gm Inj acts by killing the bacteria responsible for infections. However, bacteria make an enzyme (beta-lactamases) which can destroy piperacillin
- Tazobactam inactivates this enzyme and hence helps piperacillin to function optimally.
Directions for Use of Piptaz 2.25gm Dry Vial Of 1 Powder For Injection
This medicine will be given in a hospital by your doctor or nurse as an injection. Do not self inject this medicine.

Interactions with other medicines
- Some medicines can affect the way Piptaz 2.25gm injection works, or Piptaz injection itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
- Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements, or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
- Especially if you are taking medicines for muscle relaxation, gout, blood thinners, anti-infectives, pain killers, immunomodulatory medicines.
- Close monitoring of blood function is required if you are on the medicine used to stop blood clotting like Warfarin.

Overdose
Your doctor or nurse will give this injection. Therefore it is less likely to provide you with more or less of this medicine. However, if you experience loose motions, nausea, vomiting and fits immediately after taking this injection, inform your doctor as soon as possible....
Missed a Dose
You will be monitored by your doctor or nurse on when the injection should be given to you. It is unlikely that you will be missing any dose. However, if you think your doctor or nurse might have missed a dose, inform them. It is advisable not to miss any dose of antibiotics as it can result in fail of therapy....
