Uses
- As per CDSCO and USFDA, Paxonil Ls are used for
- Treatment of Depression
- Treatment of anxiety disorder
- Treatment of the Panic disorder
- Treatment for Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Contraindications
- If you are allergic to any components of Paxonil Ls, i.e. Paroxetine and Clonazepam.
- If you are taking antidepressant-like- Monoamine Oxidase Inhibitors (MAOIs),
- If you are using other anti-anxiety or sedative medicines and antipsychotic medications.
- If you have an eye disorder like narrow-angle glaucoma.
- If you have liver or kidney disease.
- If you have respiratory issues.
- If you have a heart condition.
- If you are pregnant or a breastfeeding mother.

- You have any allergic reactions after taking Paxonil Ls.
- You have any suicidal ideation or self-harming thoughts.
- You notice sudden or severe changes in thought, behaviour or mood.
- You notice a sudden decrease in vision.
- You have trouble breathing or talking. You have withdrawal symptoms like agitation, nausea, tremor, sweating and confusion.
- You are using any ayurvedic/ herbal medicines, vitamins and other health supplements.
Directions for Use
- Take the Paxonil Ls exactly as prescribed by the doctor.
- Take Paxonil Ls with or without food or as prescribed, preferably at the same time every day.
- Take the Tablet as a whole orally with a full glass of water. Do not crush or chew this medicine.
- Do not take Paxonil Ls with other medications without consulting your doctor.
- Don’t stop taking Paxonil Ls suddenly, as it may lead to withdrawal side effects.
- Don’t exceed the dosage of Paxonil Ls on your own without consulting a doctor.

How Does It Work?
Interactions
Interactions with other medicines
- Paxonil Ls interaction with MAOI (monoamine oxidase inhibitors) like Selegiline, Rasagiline, Isocarboxazid, and antidepressants, lithium, triptans, buspirone, amphetamines, tramadol, tryptophan, may cause serotonin syndrome. It is strictly contraindicated
- Paxonil Ls interaction with metoprolol can lead to excessive bradycardia (slow heart rate).
- Paxonil Ls interaction with antipsychotics (haloperidol, pimozide), antihistamines, tricyclic antidepressant-imipramine, desipramine can prolong QT interval on ECG and can alter heart rhythm.
- Paxonil Ls interaction with NSAIDs, Aspirin, and other medications increases bleeding risk.
- Paxonil Ls interaction with Herbal products like St john’s wort can lead to life-threatening side effects.
Interactions with food items
- Avoid consuming Paxonil Ls with cola drinks, chocolates and caffeine-containing food items like tea or coffee. It can result in serotonin syndrome (high levels of serotonin).
