Medical Description

Pantosec tablet is used to reduce stomach acid production. It is used for the treatment of ulcers and acid reflux disease, also known as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). It contains pantoprazole as an active ingredient. It reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach by blocking a pump called the proton pump in the stomach wall, which is responsible for acid formation.

Pantosec tablet should usually be taken on an empty stomach, ideally 30–60 minutes before a meal, for best absorption and acid control. The dosage and duration depend on the condition being treated and your response to therapy. Do not miss doses or take extra doses without consulting a doctor, as irregular intake may reduce its effectiveness. Always complete the full course prescribed by your doctor, even if your symptoms improve earlier.

Along with taking medicine on time, making certain lifestyle modifications can help manage your acidity problem better. Try eating smaller meals, eating slowly, avoiding overeating, and lying down immediately after meals. Also, limit alcohol intake, avoid smoking, and maintain a healthy weight. Consult the doctor to understand what works best for you.

Pantoprazole tablets include Pantop 40mg, Pantodac 40mg, Pan 40 mg, and Pantakind 40mg.
